Santa Monica

Santa Monica is a mixture of affluent, single-family neighborhoods and is home to 90,000 executives, celebrities, renters, surfers, young professionals and students. Santa Monica is named after Saint Monica of Hippo because it was first visited by Spaniards on her feast day.
Santa Monica had become a famed resort town by the early 20th century. The city has experienced a boom since the late 1980s through the revitalisation of its downtown core with significant job growth and increased tourism. Situated on Santa Monica Bay it is surrounded on three sides by the city of Los Angeles with Venice to the south.
